At least between 10 to 15 people were died Monday by the guns of Israeli forces after they forcefully stopped a boat carrying aid and pro-Palestinian activists. The boat was to reach at Gaza. Turkey and Palestinian leaders have severely condemned this action by saying that they have convicted murders of innocent people. The scene occurred on the same night when President Barrack Obama was shaking hands with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington.
One of the spokesman for Israeli army said that ammunition was used by both sides and more than 10 passengers had lost their lives but he did not provide any information about injured. Hamas’s Al Aqsa Television said that as many as 29 people were killed in that raid including nine Turkish nationalist. The reports also say that senior Arab Israeli Islamist leader Raed Salah was also got injured and his condition was very critical. One Israeli TV channel named 10 Television, said the passengers were first to start the clash who attacked Israeli soldiers with axes and knives. The channel did not mention their source of information. Israel’s army radio also said the same thing that the passengers had made situation critical and they tried to grab weapons of naval commandos.
Turkey’s foreign ministry through a written statement strongly condemned that and referred it as inhumane practice of Israel. He also mentioned that this incident may also create a loophole in the relations between Turkey and Israel. Hamas, on Monday, urged Muslims and Arabs to condemn this action as Israel has broken an international law.
The ships were carrying 10,000 tons of supplies to Gaza and there were a total of 700 passengers on board.
