In Guatemala, a hellish three story building high depression swallowed a building and a house after the storm.
The hole that got created was 60 feet deep and 30 meters wide. The crater appeared in the center of Guatemala City after the Storm Agatha. The crumbly soil was dissolved following the heavy rains. The foundation of limestone that supported the city also got dissolved after the torrential rain.
The Agatha Storm was the first storm of hurricane season. The Agatha storm predicted that the hurricane season which is due to arrive would feature intense and catastrophic cyclones. The storm distressed Guatemala along with its surrounding regions of Honduras and El Salvador. Last weekend, the dominant storm troubled many regions of Central America and took lives of many citizens. Over a hundred people died and approximately fifty people went missing during the unforgiving rains. The hammering storm caused many landslides that swept many houses. Thousands of people were left homeless after the massive ravaging storm. Heavy rains caused the flooding of nearby river. The floods dissolved the limestone soil therefore; as a result, a cavernous opening was formed in the middle of Guatemala. According to geological surveyors, the hole that appeared in the city was more than fifty feet deep and was thirty meters wide. The hole stunned the spectators. According to a witness the hole ingested a triple storey building and a small house.
The citizens of Guatemala are not new to such amazing environmental scenes. In 2007, a chasm with a depth of hundred feet appeared due to a shattered sewage system during pouring rains.
