England coach Fabio Capello has announced 23-man World Cup squad today June 1, 2010. Darren Bent, Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone, Scott Parker, Adam Johnson, Leighton Baines and Theo Walcott were not included in the final 23-man squad for the mega event starting on June 11. Sunderland’s striker Darren Bent scored 24 goals this season but failed to book a place in Capello’s final list. Manchester City’s Adam Johnson and Arsenal’s Theo Walcott played brilliant football for their clubs but they didn’t manage to impress Capello. England will play against USA in their opening game on June 12 and then they will face Slovenia and Algeria in other matches of the group stage. England recently beat Mexico 3-1 and they somehow manage to beat Japan 2-1 in preparation for the World Cup in South Africa. England failed to score against Japan but two own goals were enough to secure the victory for Capello’s team.
